Crossroads Montessori features an individualized approach to education and an emphasis on collaborative work. Students learn how to become independent, self-directed learners and develop creative, critical and higher order thinking skills.

Precisely designed Montessori materials help students learn and lead to deeper understandings of concepts in all subject areas. In addition, other standards-based programs such as Writer's Workshop are blended into the Montessori method.

The school is organized into three levels of multi-grade classrooms. The multi-age classrooms promote a cooperative and family-like atmosphere in which each student is respected and supported. Students stay with the same teacher for two or three years which has a positive effect on learning and behavior.
